The role requires basic medical terminology knowledge, strong customer service, data accuracy in the EMR, and collaboration with the RN/LPN team to support population health initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Preference for an associate degree.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program or eligibility for national exam within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients; manage registration, check-in, and check-out processes.
• Answer phones professionally; schedule appointments and verify insurance.
• Register patients and ensure data completeness in electronic systems.
• Check-out patients; confirm documentation and collect payments as needed.
• Route messages and patient communications to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
• Coordinate internal and external referrals and assist with scheduling and records transfer.
