Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing.
• Proficient in MS Word, email, and data entry in a Windows environment.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems and meet patient needs.
• Ability to work in a high pressure, deadline oriented healthcare environment.
• Attention to detail to ensure scheduling accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments for treatment and outside referrals; coordinate with departments to ensure efficient flow.
• Collaborate with patients, families, visitors, providers and staff to identify needs and resolve issues.
• Update patient and caregiver contact information in the EHR.
• Communicate with providers, technologists, and nurses about scheduling needs and requests.
• Manage and prioritize scheduling requests and emergencies.
• Assist with training of new staff and cross-coverage as needed.
• Update provider templates for just in time needs.
• Triage calls from referring physicians, patients, and others seeking care.
• Collect and enter patient demographics and insurance data; assist with financial clearance.
• Coordinate access to the Commercial Cell Therapy Portal (IMTX).
• Distribute workload to Program Assistant or Coordinator Assistant as appropriate.
