Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Per Diem Patient Care Coordinator I in Seattle. This role supports scheduling for treatment, referrals, and consultations, acting as a liaison among patients, families, and care teams. The position is hybrid, with 1–2 onsite days monthly at South Lake Union.

Responsibilities include updating EHR data, coordinating with departments, and triaging calls. Requires strong organizational and communication skills, plus experience in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently, organize, and prioritize concurrent responsibilities.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Word, email, and data entry in Windows environments.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems and meet patient needs.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all patient appointments related to treatment and referrals.
• Coordinate scheduling with departments to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Communicate with patients, families, and staff to identify needs and provide follow-up.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR.
• Triage calls and assist with training of new staff.
