Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine, a physician-owned neurosurgery and spine care practice in Phoenix, is seeking a Care Coordinator. You will support physicians with clerical tasks, patient intake, and EMR documentation while ensuring a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years in a medical setting. Strong communication, organization, and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients in the EMR with demographic and insurance information.
• Ensures all initial consultations, notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology reports are available to the physician prior to patient arrival.
• Opens chart encounters in Centricity and maintains patient records for historical reference.
• Greets and rooms patients to facilitate the patient clinic flow.
• Takes vitals and records assessments in the patient chart for physician review.
• Enters orders and E-Prescribe information and creates clinical visit summaries.
• Schedules follow-up appointments as needed and coordinates referrals to other health care providers.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA guidelines.
• Keeps office equipment operating and coordinates repairs as needed.
• Participates in continuing education opportunities and provides coverage to other positions as requested.
