Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access to care by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring services are set up accurately and efficiently. You’ll work with patients, providers, referral sources, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and move the intake process forward smoothly.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate degree in a related field (Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or equivalent).
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, payer guidelines to determine eligibility and compliance.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility and document interactions.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and propose alternatives.
• Collaborate with referral sources, physicians and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to obtain and manage documentation.
