Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to coordinate referrals and review clinical documentation to ensure proper eligibility and insurance compliance. You will work with patients, providers, and internal teams to move intake forward accurately and efficiently.

This role emphasizes attention to detail, clear patient communication, and collaboration across departments in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or higher; healthcare admin or related field preferred.
• Experience in management, clerical, insurance, billing, claims or call center is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review referrals and clinical documentation to determine eligibility and compliance prior to service delivery.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility and document interactions accurately.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and provide options.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to obtain and manage documentation.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating inventory and services, and facilitate intake with internal teams.
