Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to coordinate referrals, review clinical documentation, and ensure services are set up accurately in a fast-paced healthcare setting. You will work closely with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and eligibility, ensuring smooth intake processes.

The role requires detail orientation, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or higher is required.
• Experience in healthcare admin, billing, claims, or call center is a plus.
• Experience in healthcare organization, pharmacy, HME, or Medicare env. is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review patient eligibility and payer guidelines prior to service delivery.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibilities and document interactions.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and provide alternatives.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams for complete documentation.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic systems.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes and meet productivity/quality standards.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure inventory and services are scheduled.
