AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access by coordinating referrals, reviewing clinical documentation, and ensuring accurate setup of services. You will work with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and eligibility, driving timely intake processes.

Qualifications

• One year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or higher; related associate degree preferred.
• Experience in management, administrative, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred.
• Healthcare organization, pharmacy, HME, medical supply, or Medicare environment experience is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and healthcare systems; quick learner of new tech.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate patient referrals and intake documentation.
• Communicate with patients about financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and offer alternatives.
• Collaborate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Ensure compliance with payer requirements and maintain accurate electronic records.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity and quality standards.
• Coordinate staffing and scheduling for inventory and services.
• Work with sales, insurance verification, and internal support teams to facilitate referrals.
• Navigate multiple EMR and online systems to manage documentation.
• Answer calls professionally and provide assistance to patients and referral sources.
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed and support team operations.
