Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking an Intake Specialist to support patient access by coordinating referrals and reviewing clinical documentation. You will work with patients, providers, and internal teams to navigate insurance requirements and move the intake process forward smoothly.

Ideal candidates enjoy detail-oriented work, patient communication, and cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The role includes on-call rotation and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relatable work experience required.
• High School Diploma or Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field.
• Experience in admin, clerical, insurance, billing, claims, call center, or customer service preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records, payer guidelines to determine patient eligibility and compliance prior to service delivery.
• Communicate with patients regarding financial responsibility and collect payments when applicable.
• Contact patients when documentation does not meet payer requirements and provide updates/options.
• Coordinate with referral sources, physicians, and clinical teams to obtain complete documentation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of payer requirements to ensure services are delivered appropriately.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient information using electronic systems.
• Enter referrals within established timeframes while meeting productivity standards.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure inventory and services are scheduled appropriately.
• Collaborate with sales, insurance verification, and support teams to facilitate intake.
