Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to support operative procedures by preparing sterile instruments and equipment, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting the surgical team throughout the operation. Responsibilities include instrument setup, aseptic technique, surgical counts with the circulator RN, specimen labeling, and on-call readiness.

An Associate degree or military surgical tech certification is required, with one year of perioperative experience

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• One year perioperative/surgical technology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists scrub team during operative procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Maintains sterile field and assists with drapes and aseptic technique.
• Performs surgical counts with circulating RN and tracks specimens.
• Informs team of implanted devices, catheters, drains, and packing.
• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team as needed.
• On-call availability as scheduled.
