Job summary

Mercy Health Anderson Hospital is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist the operative team by preparing sterile instruments, supplies and equipment and by maintaining aseptic technique throughout the procedure. Education requires an Associate Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology with preferred BLS and CST/ NBSTA/ TS-C certification.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required)
• Must be certified by one of the following: CST / NBSTA / TS-C (TS-C not accepted for Cincinnati)
• Registered CST with Virginia Board of Medicine if residing in Virginia

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instrument for the procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt of special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
