Job summary

Mercy Health in Springfield Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to assist the operative team by preparing sterile instruments, supplies and equipment and maintaining aseptic technique throughout procedures.

The role requires an associates degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, plus CST/NBSTA/ TS-C or NCCT certification; BLS preferred. You will help with pre/post procedure prep and support the surgical team.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (preferred).
• Must be certified by CST, NBSTA or TS-C (TS-C not accepted for Surgical Tech jobs in Cincinnati) or NCCT (required)

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instrument for the procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt of special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
