Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team in preparing sterile instruments, maintaining the sterile field, and assisting during invasive procedures. The role requires precise instrument handling, counts with the circulating nurse, and adherence to aseptic technique.

Applicants should have an associate degree in Surgical Technology and CST certification, with preferred perioperative experience and BLS readiness.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NBSTSA/TS-C required
• BLS is preferred and required before patient care
• One year perioperative or related surgical tech experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Scrub and assist during operative procedures by assembling supplies and equipment
• Prepare sterile instruments and perform surgical counts with RN
• Maintain sterile field and ensure aseptic technique throughout procedures
• Retrieve, label and track specimens correctly
• Assist with pre/post-procedure cleaning and setup as directed
