Job summary

Advocate Health’s Cardiology department seeks a detail-oriented Patient Scheduling Coordinator to manage appointments across multiple clinics. You will handle high call volumes, coordinate patient scheduling, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Proficiency with IDX and EMR systems is essential. The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years clerical experience, and certification readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and three years clerical experience, six months at Scheduling Coordinator level or equivalent.
• Certification program and accuracy standards; BCLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency with EMR systems and scheduling platforms.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume healthcare setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with sensitive patient information.
• Demonstrated customer service experience in healthcare.
• Schedule clinical appointments for new and returning patients using IDX with priority-based scheduling.
• Coordinate lab work and diagnostic testing for patients and ensure paperwork is complete.
