Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Patient Scheduling Coordinator for the Cardiology Clinic. The role manages complex scheduling, verifies insurance, obtains prior authorizations, and updates EMR with patient data to ensure timely access.

You will coordinate multi-service appointments, assist with forms, and guide staff to improve scheduling workflows, in a full-time role with benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field preferred - not required.
• Customer service or healthcare experience required.
• Experience in medical front office duties such as scheduling, intake, insurance verification, and medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages complex scheduling across multiple providers for appointments, tests, and surgeries.
• Greets patients, checks in, assists with forms, and prioritizes urgent cases.
• Coordinates multi-service appointments and calls to schedule procedures.
• Verifies insurance, coordinates authorizations, and manages scheduling data in EMR.
• Provides patient instructions and follows up on pre-certifications and requirements.
• Mentors staff and contributes to scheduling process improvements.
