UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Student Nurse Extern I to support RN partners in the Cardiology Oncology Stepdown unit. You will provide routine patient care under supervision, assist with admissions, orientation, and discharge, and gain hands-on experience while in a prelicensure nursing program.

The role emphasizes patient safety, collaboration with the healthcare team, and learning in a high-acuity setting.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Active enrollment in an accredited prelicensure nursing program.
• BLS certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Observes, collects, and documents patient information and reports significant changes to a registered nurse or provider.
• Assists with admission, orientation, and discharge processes.
• Delivers direct and indirect patient care under supervision, including vital signs, basic procedures, and activities of daily living.
• Supports care team during examinations and procedures and assists with equipment and supplies as needed.

Prelicensure nursing program enrollment (within 12 months of graduation)
