Job summary

CHI Health Clinic's Cardiology clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant / CMA to deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care in a collaborative setting, including vitals, specimen collection, and medication administration.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes, emphasizing keen assessment and patient-first care. A ABHES/CAAHEP accredited program and BLS are required; sign-on bonus and education assistance are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by ABHES or CAAHEP.
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.

Expectations

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
