Job summary

CommonSpirit Health's CHI Health Clinic in Papillion, Nebraska seeks a Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant to deliver compassionate, high-quality care within an interdisciplinary team. You will support providers and help patients throughout visits.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, recording vitals, reviewing allergies and medications, collecting specimens, and preparing medications or vaccines as ordered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ABHES or CAAHEP accredited medical assisting program.
• Current/valid CMA, RMA or NCMA certification.
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care following clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients: record vitals, review allergies/medications, screen and document visit reasons.
• Collect and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepare and provide ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Expectations

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
