Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Omaha seeks a Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care. You will work with an interdisciplinary team to support patient well-being and recovery, performing assessments and patient care with a patient-first mindset.

Qualifications

• ABHES or CAAHEP-accredited medical assisting program is required.
• Successful completion of Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care following clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients, records vital signs, reviews allergies and medications, and documents visit reasons.
• Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and administers medications and/or vaccines.
• Performs other duties within scope as assigned.

Expectations

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements Required

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
