Job summary

CHI Health Clinic in Papillion, NE is seeking a Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to provide compassionate, high-quality care within an interdisciplinary team. You will perform general patient care, obtain and document vital signs, review medications and allergies, and support the health care provider with screening and documentation.

A required ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited program, Medication Aide 40-hour course, and BLS certification are needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ABHES- or CAAHEP-accredited medical assisting program.
• Completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform general patient care following clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients, records vital signs and allergies, documents reason for visit.
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepare and provide ordered medications and vaccines as directed.
• Perform other duties within scope as assigned.

Expectations

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
