Job summary

CHI Health Clinic in Iowa seeks a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to deliver compassionate, high-quality care that supports patients’ well‑being and recovery. You will work within an interdisciplinary team to provide individualized care and rapid assessments in a busy clinic.

You will collect vital signs, prepare patients, assist with screenings, and support laboratory and vaccination processes.

Qualifications

• Must graduate of ABHES/CAAHEP accredited medical assisting program.
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
