Job summary

CHI Health Clinic in Omaha, NE, is hiring a Medical Assistant / CMA to provide compassionate, high-quality care in a Cardiology clinic. You will support patient assessments and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

The role requires ABHES/CAAHEP-accredited MA training, a 40-hour Medication Aide course or current certification, and BLS from the American Heart Association. Sign-on bonus and education assistance are available.

Qualifications

• Graduate of ABHES- or CAAHEP-accredited medical assisting program.
• Completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients, records vital signs, reviews medications and allergies, and documents visit reasons.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA), located in our Cardiology clinic, you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Expectations

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
