Job summary

CHI Health Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant / Certified Medical Assistant (MA/CMA) to provide compassionate, high-quality care, perform vital signs, collect specimens, prepare medications and vaccines, and support an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements include ABHES/CAAHEP accredited MA program, current CMA/RMA/NCMA certification, Medication Aide course, and BLS. Sign-on bonus and education assistance are available for eligible new hires.

Qualifications

• ABHES or CAAHEP accredited medical assisting program required.
• Current/valid CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification required.
• Medication Aide 40-hour course completed or current/valid.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Performs general patient care following clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients; records vital signs and reviews allergies/medications.
• Collects and prepares specimens for lab analysis.
• Prepares and provides medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

Expectations

• Performs general patient care following established clinic workflows.
• Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider by obtaining and recording vital signs, reviewing drug allergies and current medications, completing applicable screening questionnaires and documenting reasons for visit.
• Collects and prepares ordered specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Prepares and provides ordered medications and/or vaccines to patients.
• Performs other duties within scope of role as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required:

• Graduate of a medical assisting program accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education (CAAHEP)
• Current/valid nationally recognized certification, registration or recognition for medical assistants (AAMA/CMA, RMA, NCMA)
• Successfully completed Medication Aide 40-hour course or current/valid
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association

Pay Range

$18.96 - $26.78 /hour
