Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Danvers, MA seeks two Access & Pump Engineering Co-ops to join our Cardiology team. You will conduct feasibility testing, prototype devices, and contribute to test method development.

Pursuing Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with SolidWorks proficiency, rapid prototyping experience, and familiarity with statistics is preferred. This co-op provides hands-on design experience in a regulated medical-device environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
• SolidWorks proficiency or experience is preferred.
• Experience with rapid prototype manufacturing is a plus.
• Familiarity with statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of experimental design and test method development.
• Root Cause Analysis and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Feasibility testing including part inspection, root cause investigations, fixture development, component prototyping, mechanical testing, thrombus loop testing and test method development/validation.
• Prototype devices via rapid prototyping or assembly of subcomponents.
• Develop test methods and perform validation as part of device development.
• Independently design fixtures and rapidly manufacture fixtures.
• Evaluate prototype devices for usability, hemostasis, and insertion/removal forces in straight and tortuous anatomy.
• Perform statistical analysis of collected data and compare to baselines.
• Provide flexible support across access device, component, and kit development.
