Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Danvers, MA is seeking a Product Development Engineering Co-Op to join the ECP Product Development Team. The role focuses on designing, building, and evaluating medical device components, test fixtures, and engineering concepts.

You will perform hands-on bench testing, develop test methods, create mechanical designs with 3D CAD, and analyze data to support product development and root-cause investigations, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on lab work experience.
• Foundational knowledge of design, mechanics, testing methods and data analysis.
• Experience with 3D CAD software; SOLIDWORKS preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel and basic statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute hands-on bench testing, including feasibility, characterization, simulated-use, and design verification testing.
• Develop and improve test methods, define procedures, and troubleshoot setups.
• Create and iterate mechanical designs for components and fixtures using 3D CAD; assist prototyping via 3D printing or machining.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret test data; summarize results and present conclusions.
• Support root cause investigations and design improvements through structured experimentation.
• Document procedures and results in clear reports and presentations with cross-functional teams.
