Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit. This night-shift role (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) covers Saturday and Sunday nights at UAB St. Vincent's East, with a focus on post-procedure cardiac care and high-acuity telemetry.

The ideal candidate holds a nursing diploma, Alabama RN licensure, and BLS; ACLS may be required. This role emphasizes detailed patient monitoring, coordination across disciplines, and careful discharge

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 1 month of hire date.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credential from Alabama Board before hire.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition.
• Coordinate care as primary point of contact among disciplines.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate discharge planning with healthcare team.
