Job summary

UAB Medicine’s 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Saturdays and Sundays). Work location is UAB St.

Vincent’s East on a 23-bed cardiac stepdown unit with telemetry, medication management, and specialized nursing interventions for high-risk cardiac patients. Qualifications include a nursing diploma, Alabama RN licensure, and BLS; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider required within 30 days of hire. ACLS certification preferred.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing prior to hire date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; record and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as coordinator of care across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Discharge planning in coordination with healthcare team.
