Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a qualified cardiac ultrasound technologist to provide high quality echocardiography services for adult patients in Norfolk, VA. The role includes performing 2D echocardiography, Doppler assessments, and assisting with stress echocardiography and TEE as needed.

Qualifications include ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year and BLS within 30 days. New grads are welcome, with sign-on and relocation bonuses offered where applicable.

Qualifications

• Certifications: ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year; Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Education: Sonography or Related field
• Work Experience: Accept New Grads

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels, identifying EKG abnormalities and/or arrhythmia.
• Assesses age-specific needs of patients during duties.
• Uses doppler and imaging techniques to investigate clinical questions for cardiac visualization.
• Recognizes abnormalities in structure and function and differentiates normal from abnormal findings.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and selects transducers for optimal resolution and penetration.
• Documents patient history and correlates with exam results for clinician review.
• Assists with stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE).
• Maintains quality and participates in QA/QI programs.

Education

ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association
