Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a qualified Cardiac Sonographer to provide high-quality ultrasound imaging of the heart and great vessels for adult patients. The role includes performing stress testing assistance, EKG assessment, and collaboration with cardiology to ensure accurate, timely diagnoses.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year.
• BLS within 30 days (AHA).
• Sonography or related field education required.

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels.
• Identifies EKG abnormalities and/or arrhythmias.
• Uses age-appropriate patient techniques and proper transducer positioning to optimize visualization.
• Assesses cardiac structure, function and Doppler findings; recognizes artifacts and abnormalities.
• Operates ultrasound equipment, selects appropriate transducers, and documents findings.
• Collaborates with cardiologists; assists with stress echocardiography and transesophageal procedures.
