Job summary

Carle Health seeks an experienced echocardiography technologist to provide high-quality ultrasound imaging of the heart and great vessels for adult patients. The role includes assisting with exercise and pharmacologic stress testing and coordinating with the cardiology team.

The ideal candidate will perform 2D echocardiography, Doppler assessments, and occasional transesophageal echocardiograms with guidance from physicians.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI registration required within 1 year.
• BLS certification required within 30 days - American Heart Association.
• Education: Sonography or related field.

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels, identifying EKG abnormalities and arrhythmia.
• Uses knowledge of age-specific needs during procedures.
• Applies Doppler techniques to investigate clinical questions and visualize cardiac structures.
• Operates ultrasound equipment and selects transducers for optimal resolution and penetration.
• Communicates results to the cardiologist and documents findings clearly.
• Participates in mobile echo/vascular service regionally and in callback rotation.
