Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a skilled echocardiography technologist to perform high-quality ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels. You will assist with exercise and pharmacologic stress testing, recognizing and documenting cardiac abnormalities, and collaborating with cardiologists to ensure precise, timely results.

The role requires ARDMS or CCI registration within 1 year, BLS within 30 days, and a background in sonography or a related field.

Qualifications

• ARDMS/CCI certification within 1 year
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)

Responsibilities

• Performs high quality two-dimensional ultrasound studies of the heart and great vessels.
• Identifies EKG abnormalities and arrhythmias.
• Uses age-appropriate techniques; positions patient and transducer for optimal cardiac visualization.
• Recognizes abnormalities and artifacts; understands anatomy.
• Uses M-Mode to measure cardiac dimensions; assesses valvular insufficiencies with Doppler.
• Evaluates blood flow with pulsed and continuous-wave Doppler.
• Uses contrast echocardiography when needed.
• Performs transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography; communicates results to cardiologist.
• Participates in mobile echo/vascular service and callback rotations.
• Continues professional growth and maintains ICAEL accreditation.
