Job summary

UMB Bank is seeking a Business Development Officer - Capital Finance to originate loans, negotiate terms, and guide transactions from prospect to funding. You will cultivate referral networks and support underwriting for new client proposals, reporting to Executive Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years credit experience with 3 years sales experience in banking, finance or asset-based lending.
• Knowledge of marketing tools and methods including mailings, telemarketing and outreach.
• Ability to read and interpret financial and budgetary documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Originate loans in line with credit policy and market terms.
• Negotiate price and structure within set limits.
• Review and approve transactions before reporting to Executive Management.
• Build and maintain relationships with referral sources and influence centers.
• Assist in underwriting of client proposals from prospect to funding.
• Seek Executive Management approvals for new client transactions.
• Market to banks, CPAs, attorneys, PE firms and financial firms.
• Visit prospective clients and produce reports for new prospects.
• Attend scheduled meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
