Job summary

UMB Bank in the United States is seeking a Business Development Officer – Capital Finance. You will originate loans in line with our credit policy, negotiate price and structure, review transactions before reporting to Executive Management, and develop relationships with referral sources including banks, CPAs, attorneys, and private equity firms.

You will assist in underwriting client proposals from prospect to funding and seek approvals from Executive Management for new transactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years of credit experience with 3 years of sales experience in banking/finance.
• Ability to read and interpret financial and budgetary documents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Originate loans consistent with the Company's credit policy.
• Negotiate price and structure of new transactions within set limits.
• Review and approve transactions before reporting to Executive Management.
• Initiate and maintain relationships with referral sources and influence centers.
• Assist in underwriting client proposals from prospect to funding.
• Seek approval from Executive Management for new client transactions.
• Market to referral sources including banks, CPAs, attorneys, PE firms, and national organizations.
• Visit prospective clients and produce reports for new prospects.
