Job summary

UMB Bank in the United States seeks a Business Development Officer - Capital Finance to originate loans and negotiate structures within credit policy. You will review transactions, build referral networks, and support underwriting from prospect to funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3 years credit experience with 3 years sales experience in banking/finance/asset-based lending.
• Knowledge of marketing tools and methods (mailings, telemarketing, and other outreach).
• Ability to make independent judgments with impact on business lines and organization.
• Ability to read and interpret financial and budgetary documents.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical, highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Originate loans consistent with the Company's credit policy.
• Negotiate price and structure of new transactions within set limits.
• Review and approve all transactions before reporting to Executive Management.
• Initiate and maintain relationships with referral sources and influence centers.
• Assist in underwriting new client proposals from prospect to funding.
• Seek approval from Executive Management for new client transactions.
• Market to referral sources including Banks, CPAs, Attorneys, Private Equity, financial firms, and others.
• Visit prospective clients and produce reports for new prospects.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
