Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County seeks a patient scheduling specialist for the Cancer Center. You will manage scheduling of specialty referrals, handle outbound/inbound calls, and adjust appointments as needed to support operations.

The role requires strong customer service, Epic/Quest experience, and the ability to work independently within a team of healthcare professionals. On-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service role with high scheduling system usage (Quest, Epic, etc.).
• Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics.
• Experience with MS Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs.
• Experience using office equipment (printer, copier, fax, scanner).
• Experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Schedule specialty referral appointments and modify appointments as operational changes.
• Provide outbound call center services within the Cancer Center.
• Handle inbound calls from patients seeking medical services.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff.
