Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health is seeking a patient scheduling specialist within the Cancer Center Call Center. You will schedule specialty referral appointments and modify existing bookings to align with operational changes.

The role involves outbound call center activities, handling patient inquiries for medical services, and serving as a preceptor for new staff. Strong English communication and Excel skills are required; Epic experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a customer service role with scheduling systems (Quest, Epic, etc.)
• Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics
• Experience with MS Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment (printer, copier, fax, scanner)
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships across the Health System

Responsibilities
