Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County is seeking a Customer Service Associate to schedule specialty referral appointments and coordinate appointment changes within the Cancer Center. You will manage inbound calls, verify patient information, and ensure accurate data entry in the scheduling system.

This role also serves as a preceptor for new staff, supporting training and adherence to clinic-specific scheduling requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a customer service position with high utilization and reliance upon an electronic medical scheduling system (Quest, Epic, etc.)
• Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinics
• Experience with MS Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs
• Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Responsibilities

• Schedule specialty referral appointments and modify appointments as needed due to operational changes.
• Provide outbound call center services within the Cancer Center and handle inbound patient calls for medical services.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff and ensure clinic scheduling requirements are followed.
