Job summary

Follett is hiring an Assistant Store Manager to support Market Leaders or Campus Store Managers in overseeing store operations and driving sales while delivering exceptional customer service. The role requires mentorship of team members, understanding store performance, and maintaining brand standards.

The position emphasizes leadership, training, and opening/closing responsibilities, with a strong focus on accurate cash handling and promotional execution.

Qualifications

• An Associate's Degree or equivalent is preferred.
• 0-5 years of retail or bookstore experience preferred. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• General Computer Skills

Responsibilities

• Schedules team members' work hours and trains new hires (FT/PT and seasonal).
• Greet customers, answer phones, provide information, and resolve escalated issues to ensure a hassle-free customer experience.
• Operates cash register and store computer to process payments and manage deposits in adherence to cash handling procedures.
• Stock shelves, take inventory, and maintain merchandising and promotion standards.
• May fill in for other personnel during breaks, lunch, or peak periods and assist with register operations and department coverage.
• Keyholder with opening and closing responsibilities.
• Balances cash, counts drawers and performs end-of-month reporting as part of accounts receivable processes.
• Maintains shrink prevention practices and supports overall store operations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
