Job summary

Follett Corporation seeks an Assistant Store Manager to help lead a campus bookstore operation. You will support the Market Leader or Campus Store Manager, drive sales growth, and ensure a high standard of brand and operational excellence through your team.

You will mentor staff, monitor financial metrics, and uphold Follett Values and Core Competencies while maintaining availability to meet business needs. This role emphasizes customer experience and process adherence.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent preferred.
0-5 years retail or bookstore experience preferred; supervisory experience preferred.
General computer skills.

Responsibilities

Supervises the work activities of sales team members FT/PT and Temporary, including scheduling team members' work hours.
Greet customers, answer phones, provide information, direct callers, and resolve escalated issues; support a Hassle Free customer service culture.
Operate cash register and store computer to accept payments, place orders, balance cash drawer and prepare deposits.
Stock shelves and take inventory per Store schedule; maintain merchandising standards and displays.
May fill in for other personnel during breaks or peak periods, including register operations and textbook departments.
Keyholder with opening and closing responsibilities and ensuring store security and cash controls.
Handle accounts payable/receivable tasks, daily sales reports, month-end and payroll reports.
