Job summary

Cal State LA is seeking a Floor Assistant to provide programmatic and manual support for the U-SU Recreation facility. Under the supervision of the Recreation Coordinator, you will help maintain operations and assist with events, delivering quality customer service to the campus community.

The position is part-time (up to 20 hours/week) with a two-month training period and an hourly rate of $18.65. Currently enrolled CSULA students (or graduate students) meet the qualification criteria.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled Cal State LA student with a minimum of 6 undergraduate units and a minimum GPA of 2.0, or graduate student with at least 4 graduate units and a minimum CSULA GPA of 3.0.
• Willingness to work with a diverse campus community.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to interact positively and build effective working relationships.
• Ability to lift 70 pounds and perform regular physical activity.
• Certification in CPR, AED, and First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality customer service to the campus community.
• Ensures activities are conducted safely and appropriately.
• Assists with enforcing policies and procedures.
• Performs opening and closing procedures.
• Routinely checks for safety and maintenance concerns.
• Responds to injuries with proper emergency procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe U-SU Recreation facility.
• Assists with sanitation and maintenance of equipment.
• Assists with projects and events and may lead other staff on projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
