Responsibilities include greeting patrons, answering inquiries in person, by phone, and via chat; helping users search the catalog; checking items in/out, processing returns, and reserving study rooms; providing basic technology assistance; shelving and stacks

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons that approach the service desk
• Answer informational, directional and service questions, in-person, over the phone and on chat
• Assist patrons with searching for items in the library catalog; Referring patrons to reference staff as necessary
• Check library materials out to users, process returns and create study room reservations
• Provide technology assistance, such as maintaining printers by refilling paper and toner, fixing paper jams, helping patrons with scanners, laminator, wifi, etc.
• Load book carts, sort books and shelve items, maintain order in the stacks by assisting in stacks maintenance activities: shelf reading, inventory, shifting, pick-ups, sorting, searching for missing items, cleaning and special projects
• Assist with course reserve processing, interlibrary loan and scanning
• Assist with the opening and closing of library
• Assist with user experience activities such as surveys, data collection and data entry
