Job summary

Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, is seeking a tech-savvy AV Student Technician to support audio, video, and lighting systems for campus events. This part-time, non-benefited student position offers hands-on training and growth opportunities while working under experienced technicians.

The role is funded by the university; undergraduate students are welcome to apply. Hours do not exceed 20 per week, and the hourly rate is $15.00.

Qualifications

Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends as required.
Previous experience in AV or events venue.
Knowledge of AV equipment and stage lighting.
Familiarity with presentation software and AV interfaces.

Responsibilities

Assist in the setup, operation, and breakdown of AV equipment for events on campus.
Provide support for basic stage lighting needs, including setup and operation.
Ensure event spaces are clean, organized, and properly equipped.
Greet and assist clients upon their arrival at events.
Communicate any repairs or requirements needed for equipment.
Clean and maintain storage closets and AV equipment.
Work efficiently and deliver superior customer service.
Develop effective verbal communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
