Job summary

Worcester State University is seeking four Library Aide - Access Services (Evening) work-study students to support the Access Services unit. The role involves customer service, shelving, and using the circulation system during evening shifts.

Shifts are Tuesday 5 pm–9 pm and Wednesday 9 pm–1 am, with a 4–6 hour weekly commitment. Ideal candidates are dependable, accurate, and comfortable interacting with students, faculty, and the community.

  • Complete assignments and projects as directed by Access Services staff.
  • Provide patrons with accurate information related to library services and general policies.
  • Help patrons navigate the library and locate resources in the stacks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

General Statement of Duties: Perform customer service and clerical duties necessary for the effective operation of the Access Services unit, as well as shelving and shelf-reading to maintain good order of the stacks.

  • Provide quality customer service to library patrons.
  • Charge and discharge materials using the automated circulation system.
  • Shelve library materials and assist with stack maintenance.
  • Retrieve materials from the collection as needed.
  • Complete assignments and projects as directed by Access Services staff.
