Job summary

Bridgewater State University – Maxwell Library invites applications for a Work Study Library Assistant. This on-campus role supports circulation and access services, shelving, and patron assistance on the West Campus.

You will engage with students and staff, manage materials, and help maintain library operations. Ideal candidates are BSU undergraduates registered for at least six credits in Fall 2026 and with a Work Study award.

Qualifications

• Must be an undergraduate student at Bridgewater State University enrolled for at least six credits for Fall 2026.
• Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer services at the Access Services Desk
• Answer patron questions and direct patrons to the appropriate library staff member
• Shelve books and other library materials
• Shelf read books and clean the stacks
• Retrieve holds from the stacks and assist patrons with retrieving books
• Use the library database to check books in and out
• Perform daily patron counts throughout the library
• Other duties as assigned
