Job summary

Oakland Community College is seeking a dedicated IT support specialist to assist with campus technology, provide high‑quality customer service, and resolve complex questions. You will gain broad exposure to hardware, software, OS platforms, and end-user documentation while supporting multi‑platform environments.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in Information Technologies or related field (Bachelor’s preferred) and two years of PC support experience in a networked setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Information Technologies or related field or technical training equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two (2) years of PC support experience in a networked environment.
• Knowledge of personal computers and related hardware and software; operating systems and GUI applications; iOS, Android and MAC operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Researches, resolves, and responds to complex technology questions.
• Maintains knowledge of product offerings, support policies, and delivery methods.
• Leads or participates in team projects to enhance support quality or efficiency.
• Consults with end-users to determine technology needs.
• Works with vendor products to select suitable hardware and software.
• Installs and maintains hardware.
• Supports software, peripherals, network nodes, wiring, and campus technologies.
• Participates in researching new technologies.
• Documents, debugs, and prepares end-user procedures.
• Performs other related duties; may work additional hours.
