Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory at Penn State University seeks a Manager for Housing Operations to oversee daily activities of an assigned set of university housing buildings, supervise 8-15 staff, and coordinate with maintenance and safety teams. This is a 100% on-site, non-remote role supporting 3,500+ residents and 50+ technical staff across multiple buildings.

Associate degree required.
4+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

Direct daily activities of staff and technical service employees to ensure best operational practices.
Inspect residential areas and observe employee performance with corrective actions.
Identify maintenance issues and oversee work requests and corrective actions.
Oversee annual performance evaluations and counsel staff on job performance and safety matters.
Monitor life safety and security systems and liaise with University Police as needed.
Monitor budget and operating statements to meet projections.
Prepare for and respond to critical incidents as an Essential Employee and be on-call as needed.
