Job summary

University Operations at UCF, Campus Services, is seeking an Event Coordinator to lead planning, logistics, and compliance for events within Student Union controlled spaces and affiliated centers in Orlando, FL. You will advise partners, develop layouts, coordinate resources, and ensure safe, high-quality events aligned with institutional policies.

Responsibilities include client relations, risk assessment, vendor coordination, and staff guidance for student employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience in event coordination in higher education or similar settings.
• Knowledge of campus policies and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary professional point of contact for campus partners planning meetings, conferences, conventions, and special events within Student Union controlled facilities.
• Independently assesses client needs, event objectives, logistical requirements, and compliance considerations, providing guidance to support successful events.
• Interprets and applies University policies related to facility use and safety, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.
• Advises event clients on food service requirements and connects with approved catering vendors to ensure compliance and service quality.
• Evaluates event scope, attendance, staffing, risk factors to determine venues and resources, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Coordinates with Risk & Insurance, Facility Operations, Dining Services, and Business Services to align plans with policies and capabilities.
• Develops room layouts using diagramming software to comply with codes and requirements.
• Provides direction to student employees and supports staff during events.
