Job summary

University of Central Florida is seeking an Event Coordinator to provide professional-level coordination and oversight of events within Student Union facilities and other campus spaces. You will advise campus partners, interpret university policies, assess risks, and coordinate resources for high-quality, compliant events.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, with a focus on event planning, client relations, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
• Experience in higher education, hospitality, conference center, student union, or similar event-driven environments preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree fields: Event Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, Communications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of university policies, risk considerations, and compliance requirements for facilities and events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for campus partners planning meetings, conferences, conventions, and special events within Student Union controlled facilities.
• Independently assesses client needs, objectives, requirements, and compliance considerations to support successful events.
• Interprets and advises on University of Central Florida policies, safety requirements, and catering options.
• Coordinate resources and layouts, ensuring regulatory and institutional compliance.
