Job summary

Bon Appétit Management Company is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead campus dining operations at Carthage College, with relocation to the Kenosha, WI area. You will oversee all aspects of the dining program, ensuring financial stewardship, guest satisfaction, and strong team engagement.

The ideal candidate has higher education dining experience, a track record of managing residential, retail, and catering services, and a passion for culinary trends.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, developing, and mentoring teams in hospitality/food service.
• Strong financial acumen with budgets, forecasting, P&L, and cost control.
• Proven ability to build relationships with clients, campus leaders, students, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP principles; operational compliance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and support a diverse team of managers and frontline associates.
• Create an environment that encourages engagement, learning, growth, and recognition.
• Conduct employee meetings, performance discussions, and training programs.
• Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Foster strong relationships across departments and campus leadership teams.
• Build and maintain partnerships with college administration, campus stakeholders, students, faculty, and guests.
• Ensure exceptional hospitality standards and service excellence throughout all dining operations.
• Collaborate with culinary teams to develop menus meeting client expectations and trends.
• Respond proactively to guest feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Manage the account in alignment with budgets and client expectations.
• Oversee financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Analyze operational and financial trends to drive performance and growth.
• Manage purchasing, inventory, food cost, and labor optimization.
