Job summary

Bon Appetit is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead campus dining operations at Carthage College. Relocation to Kenosha, WI is required.

You will oversee all dining program aspects, ensuring operational excellence, financial stewardship, exceptional guest experiences, and strong team engagement. The ideal candidate has direct higher education dining experience, manages residential, retail, and catering services, and partners with campus stakeholders to deliver a welcoming dining

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in higher education dining.
• Experience managing complex dining programs including residential, retail, and catering.
• Proven success mentoring teams in hospitality or food service.
• Strong financial acumen with budgets, forecasting, P&L, food costs, and labor costs.
• Experience building relationships with clients, campus leadership, students, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with high service levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a diverse team of managers and frontline staff.
• Create an environment that encourages engagement, learning, growth, and recognition.
• Conduct employee meetings, performance discussions, and training programs.
• Support hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
• Foster strong relationships across departments and campus leadership teams.
• Build and maintain partnerships with college administration, campus stakeholders, students, faculty, and guests.
• Ensure hospitality standards and service excellence across all dining operations.
• Collaborate with culinary teams to develop menus meeting client expectations and trends.
• Respond to guest feedback and drive continuous improvement.
• Support integration of dining services into the campus experience.
• Manage the account in line with budgets and client expectations.
• Oversee financial performance including P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and sales reporting.
